GUIDANCE ON CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19)
CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19) UPDATE 19th December 2020
We are delighted to announce that we are still able to offer face to face counselling as this a front line service whilst we remain in lockdown. We are asking clients to help us keep each other safe and wear a face covering. We can provide you with a face visor and/or disposable face mask (should you not have your own).
We are following government guidelines regarding the 2 metre rule and sanitation. There is antibacterial gel at the entrance of Ingram House and also available in our counselling rooms and hand washing facilities in the toilets on the ground floor. Our facilities department have been instructed to fully sanitise the building regularly and we will also be doing this between each client, therefore your cooperation will be greatly appreciated regarding time boundaries in session and entering and leaving the building promptly to avoid as little contact with others.
You are welcome to wear any PPE if you so wish, however, if you have any symptoms and feel unwell please do not attend your session, stay at home and notify us immediately . We will still also offer Zoom and Telephone counselling to new and existing clients if you do not want to attend sessions face to face. we look forward to both welcoming new clients and previous clients alike.
Looking for a counsellor/therapist can be a daunting task. Most people will look locally for a number of reasons be it convenience, knowledge of the geographical area or a personal recommendation from others. So how do you know we are the right counsellors in Cheshunt for you and what makes us different to others in Hertfordshire?
Firstly, we offer all prospective clients ( including couples and families) an opportunity to visit our premises here in Cheshunt and a chance to meet with your therapist face to face. Why is this important? We believe that the therapeutic relationship is born out of trust and meeting with us first will give you a sense of who we are and whether we are suitable to your needs.
Secondly, We believe that engaging in therapy can be one of the most important steps that you take towards your own personal journey/recovery. By being able to meet with us first on a non-obligatory basis, this gives you as an individual a choice to decide whether therapy is currently the right choice for you. If you decide not to continue forward with counselling you will only pay for the time spent during your assessment (counselling hour).
Thirdly, we will always remain open and honest with you as the client as to whether we can work with what brings you into our service. This is why we do not contract any clients into our service until they have experienced a first session with us and only then with client consent, do we offer a minimum of a six session weekly programme ( or six sessions) with the option to continue or finish with us.
With this in mind we would like to assure you that you can look beyond the jargon and hopefully, take from our pages, our commitment to providing you with a professional service.
We may be the first website that you have come across or we may be the last website that you look at. Our hope is that we have provided you with enough information to give you the incentive to contact us, and ask for what YOU need. We have thought long and hard about what our clients may potentially want to see here, and we both hope that you can see that our drive and passion for counselling and putting you as the client at the heart of our practice, is what shines through.
Life can cause anxiety and stress at times for most people, but what do you do and who do you turn to when you are no longer or unable to cope? Perhaps you may be at a point in your life where you are possibly feeling a little lost and unsure or maybe you could be feeling confused or overwhelmed?
All these things could be having a huge impact on you. You may have an idea that 'something just isn't quite right', or you may be feeling lower in mood than you would normally feel, you may have been told by other family members or work colleagues to 'snap out of it' or 'what's up with you'. Maybe as a couple you are struggling with your relationship. These can all be indicators that life is not currently how you would like it to be. All of the above could be affecting the way you function on a day-to-day basis. You do not have to go through this on your own, your trained counsellor/therapist will listen to you and will help you to understand what you are currently going through, here in our therapy room in Cheshunt.
